built by hand.
fueled by curiosity
Whether it’s a simple bookshelf or something a bit odd, each project is a mix of material, improvisation, and sometimes learning on the fly. I like making things that solve a problem or just make my space feel better.
Slow focus
Woodworking gives me a chance to slow down and focus. I’ve always enjoyed building things that balance form and function, and I’m just as interested in the “how” as I am in the “what.” Each piece I create is a small collaboration between material, process, and curiosity which leads to understanding, as well as function or serve a purpose in the house.
I work with hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, or whatever’s hanging around the shop - depending on the project. Some builds start with a plan, others take shape as I go — sometimes influenced by what materials I have on hand. There’s always a bit of creative problem-solving involved, and I like that. It keeps me present.

In the Works
Each piece reflects some combination of sketching, adjusting, and improvising — and no two builds are ever quite the same. Here’s a look at some finished pieces and in-progress shots from the shop.
Wainscoting and Mantle Remodel
This Cape Cod-style home had a heavy brick wall that felt out of sync with the rest of the space. As the needs of a home shift from year to year, so do its rooms — what once worked might suddenly feel outdated. To lighten the room and improve its flow, I added handmade wainscoting and installed a new (old) mantle — a beautiful piece gifted by a Victorian homeowner in Old Town Fort Collins, estimated to be over 100 years old.

Butcher Block & Cutting Boards
Functional and full of character, my butcher blocks and cutting boards are built using combinations of walnut, maple, beech, and oak. I experiment with shapes and edge details, often mixing traditional patterns with unexpected twists. There's something satisfying about making a kitchen tool that’s built to last and made to be used every day.

I’ve created custom wands over the years for clients who cosplay, collect, or just want something unique and personal. No two are exactly alike — each one is shaped by hand, built to suit the story someone wants to tell.

Cedar-Strip Kayak
Building a cedar-strip kayak takes time, focus, and a lot of patience — but the result is something truly special. These boats are floating sculptures: usable works of art that move quietly through the water and offer surprising comfort. Out on the water, everything slows down—it's a chance to reset and reconnect with what really matters.
I've found winter to be the best time to experience quiet solitude - But I know my limits and always play it smart.
